How We Started

Utah Furnace Repair was built to solve a simple problem: finding a reliable furnace technician in Utah is harder than it should be.

With over 190 HVAC companies operating in the Salt Lake City area alone, homeowners face an overwhelming number of choices. Some are excellent. Some are unlicensed. Some will quote you $500 for a $150 repair. And there is no easy way to tell the difference until after someone is already in your home.

We created a better way. Utah Furnace Repair is a curated network of the highest-rated, independently verified heating technicians across the Wasatch Front. We do the vetting so you do not have to.

How Our Network Works

We are not a single HVAC company. We do not employ technicians or own service vehicles. Instead, we maintain a carefully screened network of independent heating professionals and match homeowners with the right technician based on location, availability, and the specific problem.

When you contact us, we identify the highest-rated available technician near you, confirm their availability, and connect you directly. You receive the technician's name, license information, and estimated arrival time before they show up. No blind dispatching, no mystery contractors.

Our Vetting Standards

Every technician in our network must meet these requirements before they are accepted:

Licensing.

Active Utah HVAC contractor license verified through the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL). We check for any disciplinary actions or complaints.

Insurance.

Minimum $1 million general liability insurance with current coverage verified. We require updated certificates annually.

Background check.

Criminal background screening conducted before onboarding. Technicians with violent offenses, theft convictions, or fraud charges are not accepted.

Experience.

Minimum 3 years of professional furnace repair experience with verifiable references or employer history.

Reviews.

Minimum 4.8-star average rating across verified review platforms at time of acceptance. We monitor ratings continuously and remove technicians who fall below this threshold.

Ongoing accountability.

We collect customer feedback after every service call. Technicians with repeated complaints, pricing disputes, or quality issues are removed from the network regardless of their star rating.

What We Believe

Honest diagnosis over easy sales.

Our partner technicians are not incentivized to push replacements. If a $150 repair extends your furnace's life by 5 years, that is the right recommendation, even though a $6,000 replacement generates more revenue.

Transparent pricing before work begins.

Every repair comes with a written estimate that you approve before the technician starts. Diagnostic fees are disclosed upfront and waived by most of our partners when you proceed with the repair.

Local expertise matters.

Utah's altitude, climate, and housing stock create furnace challenges that technicians from other markets may not understand. Gas pressure calibration for 4,200+ feet elevation, heat exchanger stress from extended sub-zero operation, and the specific housing eras found in Salt Lake City neighborhoods all require local knowledge.

Your safety is not negotiable.

Furnaces involve natural gas, carbon monoxide, and high-voltage electricity. Every technician we work with is licensed for this work because your family's safety depends on it.
